I have always wanted to go to New York, so booked a trip for our 13th Anniversary in the fall of 2016. The point of our trip was to visit the art scene & as many galleries as we could while we were there & of course get away just the two of us. For some reason the idea of going to NYC made me nervous & I couldn’t figure out why. After a good pep talk with my friend Dawn, she encouraged me that I am every bit as talented as any artist in a NYC gallery & that I should go with zero expectations other than enjoying our time away & getting a feel for how things work in the art business there. We visited the Guggenheim & even met up with some good friends who were there at the same time, The Met (where I took this selfie with a Monet - my favourite artist) Central Park, The Laughing Man - which is Hugh’s Jackman’s coffee shop & over 100 art galleries. Neil would start conversation with the gallerists & tell them I was an artist & bragged about me while I looked around at the artwork. One day I will show my art in NYC. Oh NYC…we will be back...
