For reading week I was asked by Millwoods Christina school to come and read to their grade 2’s and 3’s. I chose the book, “You are special” by Max Lucado. They asked me to wear my painting apron & bring a painting. The children asked me questions like,
“When did you start painting?
Why is there paint on your dress?
Are you a real artist?
Can you teach us how to paint?
How did you paint that?
My grandpa paints & I painted with him when I was younger!
Can we get your autograph?”
Gosh these kids were the absolute cutest! I got lots of hugs & even some “Can we be bff’s?”
Sometimes you just gotta hangout with 7 & 8 year olds because they just keep it real & remind you to not take yourself so seriously. Thank you Nathan Marshall for asking me to be there that day. When you can make a difference in the life of a child, you seem to change yourself a little bit too.
