Description
While painting this one, an elderly man came to talk with me. I asked him where he was from. He said he was from Edmonton and that he had just got back from South America two months ago. He pulled out photographs of his trip and showed me all the places he visited. The pictures were bent and worn. You can tell he pulls them out often. I said, “Look at you and your photographs! It’s nice to see a real photo for once. Everyone just pulls out their phones now to show each other pictures!” He said, “I know! I’m old school.” “Beautiful pictures!” I said. “Not as beautiful as your smile”, he said.
