Bio
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1977, Giselle is a self-taught artist. Giselle grew up on an acreage by Elk Island Park, just east of Edmonton. She credits her early influence to nature and her painter/poet mother--always encouraged as a young girl to play outside and explore the creative.
After obtaining her college degree and, majoring in music, she continued to paint and write music.
“In 2004, I had major foot surgery that kept me off my feet for four months. I painted to distract myself from the pain. Painting became like therapy to me. The singing and songwriting abilities that I developed in college sparked new ideas, and gave me freedom and flow in my art making.
“As I create each piece, I discover more of who I am and each painting is another part of my Self. Art is powerful and I believe it can help aid in our physical healing and spiritual well-being. I paint to soothe the soul, to free the mind, to move people, and to add beauty to the world.”
It is the connection her works spark in others that fuel and inspire her.
