I am the performance painter at Fairmont Hotels, particularly, the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton. I enjoy engaging people in the process of my work answering questions about where I get my inspiration & about my creative process.
I was recently the artist in residence in Dubai for 5 weeks performance painting for the guests at the Raffles Hotel Dubai! You can view my Dubai story here: twitter.com/globaledmonton/status/847229746505068545
I paint scenes of nature using bright, bold colour and texture. My art is about nature as a place of refuge. A pathway you feel drawn to walk down. A field of flowers you want to lie down in. A landscape you want to live in. My goal is to make you feel joy and a sense of peace when you look at my work.
My family and I live in the country where I am surrounded by the peace and quiet of nature in my own backyard. I am inspired by the great outdoors, the natural landscape and the beauty of its four seasons.
Corporate and private collectors of my work include Atco Electric and Rogers Wireless Head Offices, The Swedish Consulate, Manulife Place and the Wildflower Grill. I’ve had the honour of being nominated for both the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award for Arts and Culture as well as the Emerging Artist Award at the Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts.
Painting live for donation has raised over $435,000 for Little Warriors, Stollery Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Glenrose Hospital, CASA, YWCA, Edmonton Dream Centre, WIN House, Lurana Shelter, Community Realtors Foundation, University of Alberta Hospital, Red Deer Hospital, YESS, Compassion House, Alberta Ballet, the Edmonton Police Foundation, Lois Hole Hospital & Kids with Cancer.
I have a goal to raise $1 Million for charity within the next decade.
