You may have some questions about certain topics. Here I try to answer the most frequently asked questions.

Art rental

How does art rental work? My art is rented out at a small percentage of its retails value monthly. I come and curate your space for the artwork. Monthly invoices are sent for the art rental. The art is rented as a Month to month basis, or 6 month cycles. For more info, email art@giselledenis.com

Commissions

Do you do custom work? Yes. Typically custom work is based on an existing painting, and size and colours can be adjusted to your taste. I also work from photographs and paint my version of your photograph. Custom orders can be done in any size. Check out my “Commissions” section to see the photo I worked from and the painting I created.

How long does it take you do to a custom painting? Turnover is 4-6 weeks, depending on how many orders I have at the time. “Rush” jobs can be done if you have a date you need it by quickly.

Can I order a portrait of my daughter, or horses, running on a beach or the Millennium Falcon? No. You can see my scope of work and what I am known for, my wildflowers, landscapes or mountains, forests, fields etc. When you are looking for a painting of a certain subject, you should approach the artist that paints that subject well.

What does it cost to have a custom painting made? Cost varies on size. Email art@giselledenis.com for a price list.

I need help with sizing for a custom painting. Can you help me? Yes. Send me a photo of the wall you would like a painting for with dimensions and I can helps with sizing. I can also come to your home and look at the wall with you to help determine size, colours and theme.

Delivery

Do you hand deliver paintings? Yes. If you require delivery and you are within Edmonton City limits, we deliver & install your painting free of charge.

Home Consultations

How does it work? I can come to your home and bring some of your favourite paintings to see what you think of them on your wall. Home consults are free. It helps to see the painting in your space when you are making decisions about artwork. We will discuss sizing, colours, theme, etc.

Layaway

Can I buy a painting on layaway? Yes. All paintings in my current collection may be purchased on layaway and custom work may be purchased this way as well.

How does it work? A deposit is sent by e-transfer for the selected artwork. I will send you a purchase agreement and you send monthly instalments by e-transfer towards your painting. I send out reminder emails each month about your next instalment. The painting will be safely stored in the studio until the payment plan is completed.

Live painting

What type of event do you do your live painting at? I paint at any type of event. Weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, conferences. You name it, I have painted at it.

What is the cost to have you come and do your live painting at an event? Email art@giselledenis.com and I will send you my price list.

Do you travel to do your live painting? Yes. I have travelled as far as Dubai and can travel anywhere.

Shipping

Can you ship worldwide? Yes.

How does the painting ship? The website calculates shipping the painting as is, on the frame. You can save by having the painting taken off the frame and rolled up in a packing tube. Then you would have to have the painting re-stretched at a framer once you receive it. If shipping the painting in the tube is your preference, send an email art@giselledenis.com and I will get a quote to have it shipped in the packing tube.

Studio/Gallery visits

How do I book a visit? Email art@giselledenis.com or phone/text 780-953-5478 with the date and time you would like to come and we will set it up.

What to know before you come: The studio has a polished concrete floor. Socks or indoor shoes are recommended.
